The Charmed Book of Shadows, or "the Book of Shadows", is a fictional book of witchcraft from the TV series Charmed. Witches however, always used their own "Book of Shadows" where they kept their spells, recepies and every Book of Shadows is different. In the movie, the Charmed Book of Shadows was created by Melinda Warren and was passed down through many generation to the Charmed Ones.

M: The card points out a personality that is arrogant and vain, the card signifies a person who only puts emphasis on appearance, illusion and trickery. R: In reverse position the card is indicating that the person's true value remain hidden.

Narcissus leaves in an infinite loneliness and seclusion, which he is unable to dissolve, and he rather pretends that this is what he really wants. His only company seems to be himself which is reflected in the poor of water. Narcissus, a handsome youth who fall in love with his own reflection in a pool of water. Unable to consummate his love, "lay gazing enraptured into the pool, hour after hour", until finally changed into a flower that bears his name, the narcissus.
Otto Rank in 1911 published the first psychoanalytical paper specifically concerned with narcissism, linking it to vanity and self-admiration. Narcissism often leads us to relate to others as objects instead of as equals. Narcissists see themselves as perfect, using distortion and illusion known as magical thinking. They also use projection to dump shame onto others, often using easy targets. A narcissist who is feeling deflated may re-inflate by diminishing, debasing, or degrading somebody else.

Origin of Narcissus

Narkissos derived from Sanskrit, word narakikIya, meaning hellish, mendacious snake (savakchala leliha), serpent characteristic. The other Sanskrit word relating to Narcissus is narAza; a man-eater and a demon. The second word characterising Narcissus is nirRti, meaning evil. The card portraying a characteristic which have high need for attention, make loud and inappropriate appearances, exaggerated behaviour and emotion with an impressionistic style to crave stimulation and may exhibit provocative behaviour. Associated features include egocentric, self-indulgent personality, continuous longing for appreciation, and persistent manipulative behaviour to achieve his own needs. This personality often fail to see one's own personal situation realistically, instead he is dramatising and exaggerating his emotions. He may go through frequent changes, as he become easily bored and may prefer withdrawing from frustration instead of facing it. Because his tendency is to crave novelty and excitement, he may place himself in risky situations or turn to drugs due to the lack of dopamine or the lack of brake on dopamine release. Additional characteristics may include: shallowness, self-indulgence, attention-seeking, lack of consideration for others, excessive sensitivity to criticism or disapproval, uncomfortable situations in which  he is not the centre of attention, blaming personal failures or disappointments on others.
The third word to describe Narcissus is niraya and narakikIya, meaning hell and hellish, mendacious snake (savakchala leliha) and serpent characteristic. Narcissus will elevate himself to the status of god or goddess to be worshipped as a guru which translates to haughtiness, and he will achieve this with (kuh) trickery, maya, magic.
This abnormal and unhealthy haughty perception of oneself also known as anrju, a perverse and wicked characteristics, which use to be a typical attribute of the Gorgons in ancient Greece. This mental illness was first observed around twenty-five thousand years ago in Crete and since it spread like wild-fire. There are more and more people with this mental faculty and they are holding leading positions, they become gods of hate and people worshipping them as a desirable character. The best defence against Narcissus is to avoid him. Once you stop worshipping him as a god, he will become powerless, as his power lies in the worshippers. His only way out of the state of pride is through death, Yana, rebirth.
